I began dancing Flamenco six years ago after taking ballet lessons eight thousand years ago. Flamenco offers me an opportunity for fun sweat. It is a culturally rich and surprisingly complex dance form with ruffled dresses, live exotic music, colorful flowers in our hair, lots of makeup, and noisy shoes. When I add in the camaraderie from the other students and our teacher Sarah Parra, I wonder why I didn’t start it much sooner.
